Overview
The Plug-type Passive WDM is a compact and cost-effective CWDM transmission solution designed for mobile network fronthaul applications.
By multiplexing multiple optical signals of different wavelengths onto a single fiber and demultiplexing them at the remote end, it significantly reduces fiber usage between BBU and RRU, making it ideal for dense base station deployments.
As a fully passive device, this WDM module requires no external power, offering high reliability, low operating cost, and simplified maintenance. Its plug-type design allows fast installation and easy expansion, making it a widely adopted solution in 4G and 5G base station construction.
Applications
1. 4G LTE Base Station Fronthaul
Reduces fiber consumption and deployment cost between BBUs and RRUs while maintaining reliable signal transmission.
2. 5G Base Station Fronthaul
Ideal for high-density 5G sites where multiple wavelengths are required over limited fiber resources.
3. Mobile Network Expansion & Upgrade
Enables quick capacity expansion without laying new fiber, supporting smooth network evolution.
4. Fiber Resource Optimization
Suitable for telecom operators and system integrators aiming to maximize fiber utilization in access and fronthaul networks.
5. Compact Telecom & Edge Sites
Well-suited for rooftop, pole-mounted, and cabinet-based base stations where space and power are limited.
