A managed gigabit switch allows users to flexibly control Ethernet ports performance, enabling them to configure and monitor the network in more combined ways.

Usually this requires a highly skilled operator or administrator to make full of them and higher cost than unmanaged network switch.

Olycom offer L2 managed gigabit switch to meet normal management usage. Actually there are L3 managed Ethernet switch in the market which can have IP addresses and perform routing.

In a managed switch, there are many configurations such as Vlan, LDDP, SNMP v1/v2c/v3 etc.

A user can log in Olycom 100/1000M gigabit managed fiber switch by IP address or console port. For the former, just log in the IP address with username and password and manage the gigabit fiber switch, another way is to connect the cable(we will equip it if you order a 10 port manageable gigabit industrial switch from us) to the console port.
